ARBA, HCA and WWKC CH Mare's Zee Dotes Too ,CDX, WWKC, CD, UCD REA NA, NAJ, CGC. Dotes for short. The initials in front of my name are titles of beauty that I earned from three different kennel clubs. All the letters simply mean that I probably have the equivalent of a Masters Degree but it took much longer, was quite a bit harder, cost a great deal more money and created more than a fair amount of angst for my owner. The NA, is the Novice Title in Agility and the NAJ is the Novice Agility Jumpers title from the American Kennel Club. I sporadically do a bit of agility just to keep limber but I don't much care for agility. I believe the requirements are just so crass. One gets so hot and sweaty running, jumping and crawling over and under things. Worst of all, a perfectly good hair-do is totally ruined. So, if the weather and my mood aren't perfectly in sync, I have been known to sit under the A frame and watch Meme run the course without me, telling her to pick me up on her way out of the ring. My favorite thing to do is to train my owners in meeting my needs. They were coming along nicely until they took obedience classes and discovered that I was supposed to be obedient to them, not the other way around. Sigh..
The CD means a Companion Dog and is the first obedience level. I really have 3 CD titles. I competed at shows sponsored by the AKC, the World Wide Kennel Club and United Kennel club to get the CD titles. The CDX came from the AKC and means I have passed the second level of obedience. The next AKC level was Utility. I competed for quite sometime trying to finish that title and actually got 2 of the 3 legs required before pushing Meme's' humility quotient over the line. I then turned to Rally with my housemates Divy and Lahtee. We all finished our RAE titles which is as far as one can go title wise in Rally. The RAE required that I successfully pass BOTH an Excellent and an Advanced course at 10 different shows. Each level required that I pass 3 shows to earn the RAE title. Thus, I passed 19 shows for all the Rally titles. I celebrated by 15th birthday last November and am now doing pretty much anything I want. I still take walks every day, run about a block each day, eat good food, sleep on the bed and just enjoy myself.
I've been a Mom once and had four children. My girl Pudge lives here at Meme Zee's with me, She also has her CDX and a Rally and Agility titles. My other children live in New York, Indiana, and Ohio.
